Pinemeadow Golf Yukon Anti-Slice Driver

Pinemeadow Golf Yukon Anti-Slice Driver

Manufacturer: Pinemeadow Golf

Model: Pinemeadow Golf Yukon Anti-Slice Driver

Compares to: Similar to the King Cobra L4V M Driver

Pinemeadow Golf Yukon Anti-Slice Driver Our Review: The main reason for a fade or slice is that the clubface is open upon impact, not square to the target line as it should be. There are several reasons for that, most of which will have to do with your swing. The main feature of an offset driver is that the hosel, the part that connects the club head with the shaft, protrudes in front of the club face (see picture on the right). This geometry allows for a split second more time before the club hits the ball. This extra time helps to turn your wrists (= close the clubface) a bit more, thereby promoting a squarer impact and thus reducing or even eliminating the slice or fade.

When tested on the driving range the club behaved as promised: players with a chronic slice saw a marked improvement, while straight hitters were actually able to induce a draw and gain some extra yards. The club is no miracle solution for extreme slicers, but hitting a fade down your own fairway is still better than hitting a slice down the neighboring fairway. If you are notorious slicer you should consider choosing a slightly shorter (minus half an inch or even minus one inch) shaft when you order the Pinemeadow Golf Yukon Anti-Slice Driver, this will result in less flex which also helps to close the club face upon impact [NOTE: Some golfers think that slicers should even go for a stiff shaft but we do not recommend this as it deprives you of substantial distance]. In addition stay with a standard size grip and don't go for jumbo grips as the bigger grips will inhibit proper rotation of your wrists. Finally, as a slicer you should go for the 12 degree version of this club: the higher loft imparts a better vertical spin on the ball that in turn counters the side spin which causes the ball to curve right (for RH players).

Likes: Works well as promised, and is even USGA approved for tournament play!

Dislikes: Nothing anymore as the club is now also available for lefties.

This Driver has really helped me with my slice. I am hitting the ball a lot further and for the first time in my life I am keeping it out of the woods most of the time. Sure, when I kick back and swing as hard as I can [which just feels soooo good] I will still sometimes slice -- but nothing like I did with my old driver. I also like the finish on the top of the club and the overall product look and feel -- very high quality. Yes, I know I am not supposed to swing like that; and, yes, I know that lessons would also help too, but I just don't play often enough or have the patience for that. I am also a lefty, so I need all the help I can get on those courses designed for right handers. It's the equipment, baby... And this is the equipment for me!

I received the Yukon in late may. I am 56 yrs old and took up golf again after a 5 year lay off with back problems. I have purchased 2 sets of irons from Pinemeadow in the past 8 months. Both sets have performed beyond my expectations. The Yukon holds true as well. I am unable to make a full take away and tend to open up to soon. This club has allowed me not only to keep the ball straight but has added to the roll. My average is 225-240. The last 2 rounds I have played I have hit 11 of 14 fairways. My short game is still bad however the YUKON has allowed me the chance for bogey or par on just about every hole over 210 yards. I did have a Nike SQ driver that played a bit longer but no where near the control of the YUKON
