Pinemeadow Command Q Irons

Pinemeadow Command Q Irons

(as alternative to the Taylor Made® r7 CGB Max Irons)

Golf Club Review: Pinemeadow Command Q Irons

Manufacturer: Pinemeadow Golf

Model: Pinemeadow Command Q Irons

Compares to: Taylor Made® r7 CGB Max Irons

Manufacturer's Description Details: The Command series has always been highly regarded as a forgiving club featuring cutting edge weighting throughout the clubhead. The latest Command iron set is no different, featuring a weight distribution technology and wider sole. The wider then usual sole design combined with an under-cut cavity and rear weighting produce superior playability for all types of players.

Compare features and performance to Taylor Made® r7 CGB Max Irons at $1099.00

Our Review: A very obvious feature of these irons is their wide sole with the four additional weights in the back of it. Since these weights sit very far in the rear of the clubhead they remarkably reduce the twisting of the clubhead on miss hits and increase stability and accuracy. The wide sole itself reduce the turf drag, especially when hitting in the rough. The low center of gravity (due to the wide sole and the weights) even allows for some half decent results when one just tops or sculls the ball.

This is a great game improvement club for players of all abilities. The matte finish may not be for everyone, but the forgiveness and playability of these clubs is unquestioned.

According to Pinemeadow this is one of their best selling iron sets, and at $149 for 3 to PW they deliver excellent playability and value.

Likes: Solid hit out of the rough and other 'tough' lies.

Dislikes: Nothing, except maybe the matte finish.

After deciding to get back into golf, I sold my standard length Ping ISI's in order to pay for these custom Command Q's. I am 6'5" and needed an extra length club. I went straight to the 18 hole par three course after unwrapping the clubs. They felt a little heavier than my old clubs but look and swing good. I could have parred every hole had my putting been any good. I hit my best 4 & 6 iron shots ever. The Sand wedge does have a nice "ping" sound when you hit it solid. I will be adding a lob wedge to finish off the set. As long as these clubs give me years of trouble free service I will be a happy customer.

I was a regular golfer for many years, laid off more or less for about 8-9 years and have gotten back into playing. My old Top Flite irons were at least 20 years old and I decided that I needed some new clubs, graphite shaft and all to give myself at least a fighting chance. First, I had tried your company with the Excel #3 Hybrid, loved it and so decided to get the whole Command Q iron set and I have found that I can hit cleaner, more accurate, longer and consistently better shots with these club. I find them to be extremely well made and would recommend them to anyone. Also, I really like your grips, the softer feel is great! Keep up the good work.
